Isabel Herguera

Graduated in Fine Arts at the UPV/UHE, she went to Düsseldorf to study video-art. After participating in a cartoon seminar she did her first animated short film Spain Loves You. In 1990 she received a grant to continue her studies at the California Institute for the Arts (Calarts). Los Muertitos was her final project at Calarts and has won her many prizes. She lived in Los Angeles where she directed and worked on various commercial productions. In 1998, together with Satinder Singh she founded her own animation studio, Loko Pictures. Since March 2001 she is the director of ANIMAC, the International Animation Cinema Festival in Lleida.
