Elisabetta Bernardini began as a photographer. Graduated in photography at the "IED – Istituto Europeo di Design". She worked with the photographer Francesco Escalar as an assistant and studied film direction with Maurizio Sciarra. She takes part in stage with filmmakers Abbas Kiarostami, Jane Campion and Fernando E. Solanas. Her works as director have received more than 90 awards in Italy and abroad. With the short film Servizio Giardini receives a special mention at the “Golden Globe 2003-2004”. The short film Baiano has won over 50 awards at Italian and international festivals and has been selected at the 16th Cinequest Film Festival (Oscar boosters). With the short film, La Ritirata wins the 38th Giffoni Film Festival, in the section Y-GEN. With Giovanni Galavotti and Catia Chiavarini, she has written the screenplay for a feature film with the title Non Ridere, non-piangere, non-giocare, which in 2010 achieved the MiBACT contribution to the development and in 2014 the MiBACT acknowledgment for cultural interest. She has written the screenplay for the feature film Onora il Figlio with Giovanni Galavotti and Maria Teresa Venditti, from a true story and selected at the Pitch in the Day 2016.
