Born in the suburbs of Paris, Morgan Simon studied Biology and Communications before entering La Fémis. Youth and marginality are crucial themes in his films, as can be seen from his shorts American Football (2012), awarded at Angers Premiers Plans, and Essaie de mourir jeune (Try to Die Young, 2014), selected for the Clermont-Ferrand Festival and nominated for the César Awards. His first feature film, Compte tes blessures (A Taste of Ink), took part in L'Atelier de la Cinéfondation at Cannes and in The Jerusalem International Film Lab.
