Todd has been Producing / Directing / Lighting film and television for over nine years. He began his television career at the age of eighteen while studying at the University of Wisconsin he started working for NBC in Wisconsin as a news studio cameraman. Making his way up through the ranks he quickly began going on assignment with reporters in the field. He progressed his way through the station to becoming one of the regular Directors of the six and ten o'clock news.
It was while Directing the news that Todd's interest moved in to Documentary filmmaking. No longer interested in a brief overview of world events and important issues, Todd focused his attention on Historical Documentaries, helping to unravel and document important points in the growth and development of the State of Wisconsin. His first one hour documentary "Point Basse" followed the growth and decline of a small Wisconsin homestead that was the heart of the trading and logging industry of Central Wisconsin. Success followed, as he became one of the youngest Programme Directors for a US Television Station at the age of 21. It was during this time that Todd Produced, Directed, and Shot two further documentaries, "Yevgeny" a documentary about the life and works of the renowned post - Stalin generation Russian Poet Yevgeny Yevtushenko. And "Post 619" An Archaeological and Historical Documentary following the a group of Doctors as they worked on creating a link and following the movement of ancient Native American Tribes to there Present Day Ancestors in Wisconsin.
In 1999 Professional interests brought Todd to the UK where he attended Ravensbourne College, Britain's most renowned Broadcasting School. It was while at Ravensbourne that he met and teamed with Claire Bee to form Kleparski & Bee Productions. Their first production "Road to Sundance" saw them follow the 6 British Directors and their films through the ups and downs of the prestigious Sundance Film Festival 2000. There second Documentary "Fading Images" followed shortly after. Working with Various Directors the Team went on to produce several short films, both together and apart. It was also at this time that Todd began to hone his skills as a Cinematographer working on several Short films and Commercials.
