Biografia

Mynette Louie is a New York-based independent producer. She produced Marshall Lewy's California Solo starring Robert Carlyle, which premiered at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival; P. Benoit's Haitian immigrant drama Stones In The Sun starring Edwidge Danticat, which premiered at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival; and Tze Chun's award- winning Children of Invention, which premiered at Sundance 2009, played over 50 film festivals, won 17 festival awards, and was released theatrically and on VOD and DVD in 2010.

Louie is also the consulting producer on Olivia Silver's Arcadia starring Oscar nominee John Hawkes, which won the Crystal Bear at the 2012 Berlinale Film Festival. She co-produced Andrew Bujalski's Mutual Appreciation, which premiered at SXSW and was named one of the top ten films of 2006 by Entertainment Weekly, Film Comment, the Village Voice, Artforum, Greencine, and The Onion's AV Club, among others. She was in post-production on Doug Karr's art world drama Art Machine, starring Joseph Cross, Jessica Szohr, and Joey Lauren Adams. Additionally, she was the consulting producer on Ishai Setton's dramedy The Kitchen starring Laura Prepon and Bryan Greenberg.

Louie was developing several narrative features, including Eric Lin's death industry thriller Why We Pull The Trigger, winner of the 2007 NYU Richard Vague Production Award, and selection of the 2009 Film Independent Directors Lab and Fast Track program; Rory Kelly's psychological hiking drama The End of Something, a selection of the 2009 Film Independent Screenwriters Lab and 2010 IFP No Borders Market; and Tze Chun's crime drama Eye of Winter, comedy Nowhereville, and historical drama You're A Big Girl Now, with which she was selected for the 2009 Sundance Creative Producing Lab and Fellowship.

Louie was also selected as a fellow of the 2008 Rotterdam Producers Lab and 2010 Berlinale Talent Campus. Louie was on the Program Advisory Board of the IFP and the Selection Advisory Committee of the Sundance Labs. She was named in Ted Hope's list of "21 Brave Thinkers Of Truly Free Film" for the hybrid distribution strategy on Children of Invention, and profiled in indieWIRE's Futures column, which features notable emerging talent in independent film. Louie frequently speaks on panels about film production, marketing, and distribution hosted by organizations such as Tribeca Film Institute, IFP, Film Independent, indieWIRE, and various film festivals and universities.
