Tetsuya Mariko

Mariko Tetsuya, born in 1981 in Tokyo, attends the Hosei University and graduates from the Tokyo University of the Arts. In 2001, he directs his first short, Hozo (2001), followed among others by The Far East Apartment (2003) and Mariko's 30 Pirates (2004). He signs his first feature film Yellow Kid in 2009. In 2011, he makes Ninifuni, selected for Locarno's Fuori concorso section, and then Asunaro Rises! in 2013.
