Dan Baron wanted to tell stories already in the early childhood, because at his family’s very loud dinner-table there was always competition over who would tell the best story. From thereon everything took its natural course. Before starting the filming of „Basmati Blues“ Baron spent a year in India writing the script, trying to find inspiration and searching for film sets. He has directed two short films before „Basmati Blues“ – a fake documentary „Assault on Empire State Mountain“ and a comedy western „Hang ’Em Really High, Real Soon“.
