The art that the creators put into this movie probably wasn’t my cup of tea. Under different circumstances it could have been a pretty decent and interesting gangster movie. Samvel Tadevosian played quite a silly character and Marija Achmetzajova was probably the most beautiful acting surprise that I encountered in the recent years. However, the artistic merit was quite off and I also did not get the classical music the orchestra was playing. For me it connected the craziness with reality in a weird way and I was lost in the emotional nonsense. It’s a shame.

During the movie I remembered that time when I visited an Argentinian movie festival with Enšpígl and during one of the movies there I fell asleep. This movie had quite the same effect on me.

It was hard for me to understand this anti-love drama presenting opinions that differ from the usual standard of life and that is why it is so distinctive. It’s a pity that this distinction suppresses any kind of emotion I should feel for this movie.

I was looking forward to a great chillout that was alluring me with its premise, digital effects and a mix of actors that under usual circumstances cannot disappoint. In this case the biggest problem lies in the fact that the scriptwriter didn’t properly work out the individual characters, so the only interesting one is Samuel L. Jackson, who really acts, and John C. Reilly, who has some cool lines here and there. Otherwise it’s a military slasher in a similar vein like the legendary Predator, the only difference is that nobody in this movie is able to hold a candle to Arnold Schwarzenegger. Catchphrases are missing, even the whole spirit of the movie is missing, so it is just another mediocre digital film from Hollywood.

The Hollywood crowd can pull off some incredible stuff. They see that musical biopic dramas are successful, so they immediately create a parody of them. Just so they don’t get bored and the money keeps flowing. So this parody was created, and I have to admit it is quite a good one, as basically half of the Hollywood comedy actors of the time are a part of it… and it was written by Judd Apatow. In that case you simply can’t make a mistake. But I still have one objection. While some parodies, for example Hot Shots!, exaggerate and are also able to make fun of themselves, in this case the film really exaggerates really hard, which I would be able to tolerate, but they kinda lack in the not taking itself seriously department.

The Englishmen had quite a good idea when they decided to shoot basically a horror movie about a poltergeist in an apartment, which actually isn’t a poltergeist. I admit, I was a bit confused at the beginning. The rachitic Javier Botet looked like an alien at times and some of his pranks were about as funny as throwing up. However, in the second part of the movie the atmosphere was quite good and in the end I realized it is not really bad and it definitely deserves more than the 40% it scored at this site.

I haven’t seen such a nice and optimistic family film in a long time. I guarantee you a complete relax and a fun story that is a pleasure to watch.

Miroslava Šafránková is as impressive as her older sister and she truly owns the film Robinson Girl. It stands and falls by her, entertains and saddens… Nevertheless, it still seems pretty naive.

Blond and blue-eyed young man moves into a new German town. And to help him find friends the screenplay puts two Arabic looking, German speaking children in his way. And to make it more even more acceptable and politically correct in the true German fashion, the creators nonsensically brought the world of Middle East into the film as well. Just to make the German children watching this nonsense realize that Arabia is nice too. Under other circumstances I think I wouldn’t mind it, but it would have to be less deliberate.

Nice, deeply felt movie about the meeting of two completely different people who find their way to each other and unknowingly help each other mentally. I’ve already seen a few films like this and every time it was a great experience. The experience lies mainly in that it always gives me hope in humanity that I lack a bit in the present world.
