The solid actor base and even the complete transformation of Johnny Deppʼs appearance didn’t make me completely blown away by Black Mass. Story-wise, it’s not bad, but at times I had the impression that had the movie been 90 minutes long, I wouldn’t be angry at all. High quality and uncompromising gangster movies have apparently become extinct. That’s what was constantly going through my head while watching the movie. The thing so good about the legendary Goodfellas, The Godfather, and Scarface, namely the unforgettable scenes, was missing here. In any case, Johnny Depp proved that with every new role he is able to go to the limits of his acting abilities and for that, he has my genuine admiration.

I have to say that I like Joel Edgerton more and more. And he is going so far that apart from acting, he tries his luck in the role of a director, and as a director, he has completely won me over with the movie The Gift. A thriller which is suspenseful from the beginning until the end and at the same time it references the best movies from the genre and on top of that, it is completely believable and realistic. There is nothing too over the top, as movies often are. And on top of that, the finale sets off in such a way that the viewer cannot even afford to blink so that they wouldn’t lose a minute of suspense. Good job Joel!

I had no idea that Guy Ritchie ever shot such idiocy. Madonna portrays a solid bitch here, who could not even flush a shat-on toilet by herself. On top of that, she is cast away at a desolate island in the middle of Greece, which is bad in and of itself, and she ends up there with a creep who wants her, but at the same time doesn’t want to rape her. For some time it looks disgusting and then it transforms into love. The movie was as bad as a rubber anchor.

Before, I would say that this movie is a typical adventure for kids. Nowadays they call it young adults, so a movie about the youth for the youth. In this case a very bad movie about the youth for the youth.

There is something about Goat. He needs to make money, is a former boxer who thinks that he can get a euro here and there without being fit and having muscles. The director tells the story about real characters in a documentary-like way, which is in and of itself original. Also, thanks to this, you can feel the movie is very realistic. Plus, I have to praise the qualities of the cameraman, who turned an ordinary journey to the west into a journey of self-discovery with a hen in a box.

I like these stories. Two completely different human souls meet in order to help each other mentally and also to take a break from the outside world, which has certainly made them very tired. And the fact that they are connected by an illness of one of them is, unfortunately, sad, but in such a story you need to rather look for the positives, which the movie has provided. And to that, it added great acting performances so it was immediately on its way to create a great movie experience.

Every war story is literally horrible. But it’s worse when the main roles are played by kids. And that’s precisely the case with this movie, which amazingly combines a story from the war with a story from the present. The audience actually doesn’t know until the last 25 minutes how the current investigation will end and they also won’t make a sound while that story from the war is being told. But the moment the war story ends, the movie starts to lose steam. But until then, I admit that it is a great war drama which I will never forget. Even though it’s horrible, I am glad that movies like this are made. In not too long, there will not be anybody left who could tell those stories, only the movies themselves. After the movie, I felt horribly sad and I hope that I personally don’t ever encounter anything like it.

I don’t really feel that there are too many movies in a similar vein. I have seen The Way, then Wild, and now there is this inconspicuous A Walk in the Woods. Every one of these movies is based on some path from the real world, but each one approaches it completely differently, which, especially in this movie, I truly respect. Two old buffers decide to go on the last journey of their lives and, surprisingly, it isn’t very philosophical but rather humorous. And that’s good. The journey with them was really fun for me. Nick Nolte looks as if he were about to die during every ascent and Robert Redford, for a change, as if he were 20 years younger. There is something special about both of them and together they make a great duo that struggles through nature, but they didn’t forget what planet they are living on. I cannot help it, but that alone is very likable in my eyes.

I admit that I would never expect such an audiovisual treat in the form of Liza, the cousin of Amélie of Montmartre, to be done by the Hungarians. They really improved their standing with me. On the other hand, I have to add that this is a small-scale movie with everything it entails. An interesting premise is often overshadowed by the frequent repetition, which didn’t seem completely fine to me. The main framework of the story – a Japanese master of dreams and delusions – made me angry with his dance creations. And that’s also counting the music which accompanied it. But, for originality, I give it 3 stars. And I add that I never want to see it again.

The most brutal seven days in the history of tennis, which make fun of not only the royal sport but also the royal family itself. I haven’t seen such honestly dry, but completely eloquent British humor in a long time. And I am surprised that I saw it here, in such a small-scale movie in particular.
