007 ja Kultainen silmä (1995)

englanti The Bond franchise couldn't have asked for a better “resurrection”. The best part of the whole movie is hands down the tank ride. The opening with the bungee-jump is not too shabby, either. Bond literally jumps into a new era - heads first.

007 No Time To Die (2021)

englanti No one could have wished for a better farewell - Bond, Craig, us... No one. I will miss Daniel Craig as 007, but I am very happy that he has made five great films (I had no doubt that another one would come after Spectre, no matter what anyone said), which played so beautifully with the notorious Bond attributes (this time we finally get a proper villain super base) and with us, and it was just a pleasure to watch. No Time to Die is more than just the last part of a series - it's a film for the fans, which doesn't make sense without Craig's previous films, and which you'll enjoy even more if you know older films, especially On Her Majesty's Secret Service. The screenplay took advantage of everything the last four films had to offer, and added something new. Fukunaga's direction is fierce and playful in the action scenes, in the other scenes he relies mainly on the actors (I would like to highlight the adorable Ana de Armas, with whom I would wanted to see a solo film), the fateful atmosphere is illustrated and the pace is set by the roaring Hans Zimmer, who put the effort in, and John Barry's legacy is certainly not a disgrace. Thanks for saving the world and for the fight scenes, Bond. James Bond.

007 och dödens blick (1985)

englanti One of Moore's best Bond films. It can't be said that Moore is "in shape" - 007 is played by about a dozen stuntmen - but that doesn't matter. The film moves along decently, has sensational action scenes (the best of which are the burning city hall and the escape in the fire truck quoted by Arnie and co. in Terminator 3), it doesn't lack suspense or humor and has an excellent villain. The sight of Walken shooting miners with a machine gun, his crazed expression, is strong stuff. The airship and bridge finale is one of my favorites. Note: Q does appear, but we don't get to see his department and he doesn't give Bond a single "toy". I'm writing this here for those of you who are puzzled and stumped by the absence of technical gadgets in Casino Royale, for example. It works just fine without them.

007 och Guldfinger (1964)

englanti Not surprisingly, many people think of Goldfinger when they hear the word "Bond" (although they may not even know it). It's not Connery's best contribution to the franchise, but it certainly is flawless. You want humor? It's here. You want suspense, you want action scenes? Espionage? You get them. All of this presented in a literal golden coat with one of the best villains having one of the most interesting (and simplest) plans of all. John Barry (as usual) excels again and the music is like clockwork. And I haven’t even mentioned Pussy Galore, one of my favorite Bond girls. Best scenes: The opening brawl, Bond's "tuning in" to Goldfinger's waves, the whole Geneva part and of course the finale at Fort Knox.

007 och rätten att döda (1989)

englanti It's a shame Dalton only made two Bond films. With what he was criticized for (Bond is not Bond, but rather Rambo with a British accent), Daniel Craig is now celebrating success, and Dalton's films are still seen as the weakest of the entire franchise. Licence to Kill is definitely worth seeing - it's action, action and more action from start to finish, but with humor, suspense, pretty women, the inventions of Q and his department... Well, hell, is he Bond or is he not Bond? Answer: Indeed he is. And he’s certainly not inferior! Just the kind of guy Fleming was writing about!

007 Quantum of Solace (2008)

englanti Bond’s vendetta was a success. From the opening credits to the closing credits, the lightning-fast film races like a doped-up athlete, and it doesn't care if you can keep up with it and follow it or not. The best scenes, like in Casino Royale, come right at the beginning (the car chase and running on the rooftops), but "boring" is the last word that comes to mind in connection with the rest of Quantum of Solace. The finale is great, as is the airplane scene. Craig has confirmed that he is the best actor that could be acquired for the role of the modern 007. I hope he has many more Bond films to come.

007 - rakastettuni (1977)

englanti Another quality Moor Bond film, even one of the best ones. 007 is not only a sexual, joke-spouting machine, but the film shows him much more as a soldier (probably because of the officer's uniform he puts on a few times). The opening ski chase is well filmed (though not as long or as entertaining as the one from For Your Eyes Only), and I really like the whole part set in Egypt (the cameraman did a great job) + the music from Lawrence of Arabia used in it. The ending in the tanker is a brisk, originally-filmed action full of gunshots, explosions and angry hijacked and kidnapping sailors. What I really liked was the quick handling of the villain. No speeches, no talking points, blah, blah, blah, Mr. Bond, just fast action and saving the Bond girl (the very, very pretty Barbara Bach). Four pure stars.

007 Skyfall (2012)

englanti Definitely Craig's best Bond film. After Casino Royale and its feature-length epilogue, Quantum of Solace, we have Skyfall, a film with a license to thrill and entertain from start to finish. Sam Mendes provided spectacular action, which he only teased at times in Road to Perdition, Roger Deakins does unprecedented magic with the camera (the duel of silhouettes in Shanghai, the arrival in Macau, the fiery ending), the characters were given excellent dialogues (not to mention the dry jokes), Bond was given a great antagonist (the fact that their first meeting was one of the film's funniest moments only confirms what an atypical Bond film Skyfall is), and great teammates. There wasn't "a lot of talking" at all - on the contrary, there could have been even more plot and minutes in my opinion. All the allusions to past Bond films were more than endearing - but the best moments still came during Bond and M's ride together in "Connery's" Aston Martin. And those beautiful subtitles! "It's not very comfortable." - "Are you going to complain all the way?"

007 Spectre (2015)

englanti Different than Skyfall, perhaps slightly weaker, but still very, very good. Spectre reminded me most of Connery's From Russia with Love, which also doesn't have many action scenes, but has an interesting plot that is a joy to watch. Once again, everything flows beautifully, the film is lovely to watch and although there is a lot of talking, it is never wasted and the characters always have something to say. When it comes to action, it's typical Bond (plus the train fight is a reference to From Russia again), when it comes to women, it's typical Bond... The quiet, eerily calm atmosphere is atypical - but atypical certainly doesn't mean bad. I have to especially praise all the scenes with Blofeld, during which I almost didn’t even breathe, and I couldn't help but be pleased with the reasonable use of references to older Bond films (Connery's white tuxedo from Goldfinger, Bond's disguise as the villain from Live and Let Die, the Aston Martin DB5, the Thunderball-like funeral...). The only thing I could criticize is Thomas Newman's woefully unimaginative music (which is mostly apparent when listening to the soundtrack on its own); otherwise, I'm surprised at all the low ratings and bad reviews.___P.S. It's set up nicely for a sequel, which could easily be some sort of sly remake of On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

100 kivääriä (1969)

englanti At times it is strangely bland, at times it is a great action film with a lot of good to great things. Especially the duo of Jim Brown and Burt Reynolds, Goldsmith's (another) unforgettable score, and everything that happens in the final quarter, during which I was reminded at times of The Wild Bunch (from the same year). The overall impression was spoiled mainly by Raquel Welch, who looked great under the running water, but apart from this scene I couldn't find any other scene in the film where she had to "act".
