James Franco and Kate Hudson probably won't win the Oscar, but at least they kept me pleasantly tense and entertained throughout the film. Story-wise, it doesn't stand out too much and doesn't offer anything we haven't seen elsewhere, but I have to give it a fourth star for the last half hour of the nerve-wracking and decently bloody home invasion. 70%

It wasn't bad, the fights are great, but the over the top comedy around them spoiled the fun for me. It could have been a beautiful, gritty martial arts romp and it just turned out to be a fun homage to all the more familiar and older films. It didn't even fit formally, unfortunately. 60%

A pleasant surprise. I wasn't expecting much, but Val Kilmer and Robert Downey Jr. served me a very funny (I haven't laughed out loud like that in a long time) action crime film with an interesting story and some action. Well just an excellent fun ride that put a smile on my face. 80%

Awesome. More fun than the first one, I think. Great pacing, amazing modern look, Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill are perfect again, the plot is acceptable and there are and lots of laughs, 22 Jump Street has all that! The lunch with the parents and the end credits are without a doubt some of the best scenes of the year. Together with Suck Me Shakespeer, probably the best comedy of the year. 90%.

Considering that this is a remake of the excellent French action thriller Point Blank, we need to be a bit more strict. The Koreans haven't surpassed the original, but they have taken it in their traditional way. The visuals are stunning, the pacing is solid, the action is great, the fights are decent, they have grit and a good portion of brutality, but as far as the narrative structure is concerned, I can't be too enthusiastic here. What took half an hour in Point Blank, takes just five minutes here. If you remember the great finale at the police station, or the escape from the hospital, those particular passages here felt a little stilted and lacking in suspense, but what the hell I was entertained like a king with my feet up on the table. 75%

The Warlords is a decent historical film with an excellent Jet Li. It's a shame that the film only features one big action sequence which is the best in the genre, the last time I experienced such an intense visually breathtaking ten minutes was with The Raid 2, and again I groaned out loud with joy a few times, but the rest of the film doesn't offer much, there are a few short fights but the uninteresting finale pretty much buries the film, which is a shame. But it still works out to a weak 4* for me. 70%

A surprisingly decent B-movie and probably Luke Goss' best role. The fights are fine and they are quite hard, but there are not too many of them. I was rather surprised by the excellent final twist, which could have been guessed in the middle with a lot of thinking, but I got caught. I had fun 70%

It wasn't bad. Action-wise, November Man doesn't offer much, only one close-range fight and it’s too edited. The R-rated shootouts and thrilling car chases are nice to watch, though. Pierce Brosnan and Olga Kurylenko are amazing, the rest of the cast doesn't impress much. So in one sentence it's a pretty decent bloody spy action ride that doesn't disappoint, but doesn't impress either. Fortunately, there is no danger of boredom. 65%.

That wasn't bad at all! I rate the first half very above average. The Scribbler has amazing visuals, a perfect dark setting of some kind of institution for mentally and socially unstable people, where every now and then someone jumps out of the building. The quality of the cast is also pleasing, with one actress appearing alongside another in at least two of the better known B-horror films. The sci-fi elements didn't sit too well with me and maybe the potential wasn't fully exploited as some of the people in the asylum could have been given more space, but never mind I wasn't bored. 65%.

Sin City 2 didn't impress me much. The visuals are again properly dark and original, adding two distinctive and perfect characters like Eva Green, whose tits haven't changed at all since 300: Rise of an Empire, and the very talented and perfect Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who really enjoyed his role and I'm with him, he just could have been given more space. What I see as a minus is the lack of blood, these white splashes don't impress much and overall I didn't have as much fun here as I did with the first one, so Sin City 2 doesn't take 4* from me. 65%
