Val, or a portrait of a Hollywood actor as you may not know him. A very engaging probe into the life of Val Kilmer, enriched by lots of interesting video footage that he himself regularly shot during his life.

It's practically on par with the weaker episodes of the last season, unfortunately also in terms of the number of jokes, which is sad considering the double runtime. The creators are already floundering quite a bit, even the message here is a bit late.

I found myself in a multiverse of madness as I watched Sam Raimi struggle to project his distinctive style, directorial and cinematographic flourishes, and slightly horrific and morbid touch on the big screen. At that point, it all disappeared into the abyss of screenwriting cluelessness and a largely meaningless and uninteresting story. Once again, Marvel is just playing it safe, with nothing to surprise the viewer. It has its tried-and-tested gimmicks in the form of a dozen useless cameo roles that deadlock the plot just to tease further spin-offs, which are already a total slap in the face. Plus, this year's Everything Everywhere All at Once definitely kicked this overpriced corporate product's ass when it comes to playing with multiverse. Sam, I hope you cashed a decent check for this, and now please go and make a low-budget horror movie that makes you and the audience happy. Please.

The creative duo DANIELS were behind the mega-wonderful, extremely interesting, and entertaining movie Swiss Army Man. They raised the middle finger to the hollowed-out Marvel movies this year with their new movie, showing that even with a budget ten times smaller, it is still possible to create a movie with bigger and better cinematic magic and play around with the concept of multiverses. It is a sprawling spectacle, and it is also all, as they say, slightly all over the place so that you might feel quite overwhelmed afterward, and on first viewing, you perhaps are not going to be able even to catch all the details DANIELS put into it. I hoped I would have been more moved and touched by the conclusion, which did not quite happen. However, I have to highlight a really interesting and entertaining movie. I must also say that I have probably never seen a stronger acting comeback than the performance here by Ke Huy Quan (The Goonies, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom)! What a dude!

Suspiria is one of the best Italian horror movies you will ever get the opportunity to see. It is an amazing display of color and gore directed by Dario Argento, with the iconic haunting soundtrack by the band Goblin and a great female protagonist played by Jessica Harper. Projects like this which are abandoned and then rediscovered years later should be restored and finished every year. New York Ninja is a trashy feast for any movie buff. Vinegar Syndrome deserves my eternal gratitude. [The Shockproof Film Festival 2022]

Champagne and Bullets is one of the pinnacles of filmmaking artistry combined with crystal clear creative naivety. This magical combination can conjure up absolutely unforgettable fantastic moments that the audience will appreciate. I still cannot get "Shimmy Slide" out of my head. Oh, my goodness, this movie is bizarre. Black Magic Rites is not some rubbish low-budget trashy Italian B-movie as it may seem at first glance. It is, however, a completely weird, hard-to-grasp, psychedelic avant-garde movie that I stared at open-mouthed at times and which is very hard to evaluate in any way. Sons of Steel is a post-apocalyptic musical romp with a steroid-charged protagonist you would not want to be with under any circumstances, even with the promise of the greatest adventure. Although I watched it dubbed on the big screen, which was OK, this is the kind of totally crazy movie, which I would prefer to watch in the original language version. I feel like I understand the intention of the filmmakers. I appreciate the visual trickery, although, at the same time, I have to add that this is the kind of movie that you can just kind of sit through, and once it is over, you are glad it was only eighty minutes long and did not have a two-hour running time.
