englanti After a long time, a quality, gritty, uncomfortable and twisted horror anthology based on Clive Barker's short stories. The film may not be for everyone and I don't think mainstream and teen audiences addicted to ghost stories will be interested, but horror veterans will get a kick out of it. It feels like it fell out of a VHS tape somewhere in 2000, but it doesn't get in the way, in fact it adds a decent amount to the atmosphere, which is excellent. The first story is the longest and also the best. I don’t think has psychological terror this dense perhaps this year. I was expecting something like this from the recent crap by Charlie Kaufman I'm Thinking of Ending Things, but luckily a new debutant on the scene has pulled it off. It has a twisted idea, there's some nice gore, an oppressive atmosphere and plenty of creepy moments. In fact, my only complaint with the film is that it's slower paced and there's unnecessarily too much dialogue in places, but once it comes to the killing, there's nothing to complain about. The second story impresses mainly because of the idea, the twist and the original final revenge. The third story is the shortest and feels more like a linking of the previous ones, but it's devised decently and again there are some nice scenes. All in all, satisfaction. It's gritty, uncomfortable, atmospheric and very mad, and that's how I like it!
