Juonikuvaukset(1)

In the background of this pixilation animation triptych stands the director’s food phobia from his childhood. Food consumption is ironically depicted as never-ending mechanical process (Breakfast), uncontrollable animal instinct (Lunch) or destructive hedonist autocannibalism (Dinner). (Summer Film School)

englanti Jan Švankmajer has directed plenty of outstanding short films, but Food is my favorite among all those marvelous whimsies. I have a very personal relationship with food; consuming it is my second favorite activity. This film is not only a geyser of imagination and delightful scenes but also a venomous satire on consumerist lifestyles. There's not a single unnecessary scene or shot; it's an original concept with brilliant artistry and animation. Švankmajer has crafted a masterful film that belongs in the top ranks of animated works. Overall impression: 100%. ()

englanti Disgust versus excellent punchlines, disgust and absurdity against Jan Kraus. In other words, a decent breakfast, a tasty lunch, and an unfinished dinner. And for a long time, my farewell to Švankmajer, who only speaks to me from a very large distance. ()

englanti Jan Švankmajer once again demonstrates that his font of ideas is nowhere near drying up. I wouldn't have had any of the food he served up here, but I had a great time. Mostly probably at lunch with Jan Kraus, although all the dishes were almost too "nutritious" for my taste. (100%) ()
