Dance Like a Gypsy

A young nurse begins to face her own issues, the absence of honesty, happiness and love after meeting Samanta, a girl from a Roma settlement. The nurse is in a hopeless relationship with a married doctor. Samanta is a young Roma woman, pregnant with her husband Milan, who is unfaithful to her. They meet at a gynecologist’s office. “Teach me Czardas” is a secret request of the nurse to Samanta. The czardas is danced in happiness but also in sadness. In this case, it symbolizes the desire to learn to live and not be afraid. The road movie transports the audience to a Roma settlement in the south of Slovakia. This sad fairytale shows that only a Roma who suffers, truly loves. (FamuFest)
