Comfort Zone

Twenty-one-year-old Timo has not left his room for three years. He lives in the apartment with his mother Brigitte, with whom he communicates only via text message. We can only speculate about what happened between them and in their lives. In a dialogue with the director of this minimalist film, Brigitte gradually reveals a traumatic past that has not been healed by time. But she is also looking for a way out of this stalemate for herself and her son, whom she deeply loves. This short documentary provides an insight into the twists and turns of a complicated relationship between two people, one in which there is no room for clear answers. At the same time, it examines the growing subculture of hikikomori, people who pathologically avoid any social contact. (One World)
