In the severe winter of 1946-47 the Danish ice-breakers fought a dramatic battle to get ships carrying coal and other vital supplies through to Copenhagen. The organization of the Danish Ice Breaking Service is described, as also the co-operation with the Swedes on the other side of the Sound. (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam)
