Benji's African Adventure

The 12-year-old Benji has an African father and a European mother. His grandparents are completely different. When visiting his one grandmother, Benji eats ice cream and can choose from forty television channels. Staying with his African granny, he has to walk 2.5 miles to the nearest well. One grandma moans when pushing ahead a big shopping cart along enormous shelves with frozen animals in plastic. The other swings an axe to kill dinner and cleans her teeth with a small twig. Beside a crackling campfire, Benji tells about his world, where the Stone Age and the Cyber Age come together. (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam)
