Students from View Park High School on the corner of Crenshaw and Slauson go on a rugby tour every year. Over a three-year period the girls and boys teams tour Japan, Brazil, and Fiji. Back in South LA we see the students in their daily lives, using rugby in their quest toward high school graduation and college admission. Over the three year period, the viewer witnesses the students' personal growth. While the students are growing so is the rugby program at View Park as it blossoms into a Student Leadership Academy with their own turf field where previously there was none for them to practice on. This is a story of perseverance and self-discovery that will leave you laughing out loud and crying in your sleeve. (Pan African Film Festival)
