Agatha Christie's Poirot (1989)

englanti The most famous series based on Agatha Christie is the blessed Poirot. Leaving aside any interest I have in Marple and the contrary affection I have for Tommy and Tuppence, I am satisfied with the more than twenty years of development of the Poirot series. I'm sure the longer stories are more enjoyable - the hour-long episodes got a bit old at the beginning - but overall it's possible to come back to the series regularly and always discover something new and engaging. Ideal times are preserved here just like Miss Lemon's charms. Many pleasant faces have passed through the series throughout the era, including the surprising combination of Joely Richardson, Paris Jefferson, Jaime Murray, Emily Blunt, and John Hannah. I'm really looking forward to the new episodes of Partners in Crime this year, but after all these years I'm sure I'll never forget Poirot. The grey cells of the brain are proof of this. ()

Plymouthexpressen (1991) (S03E04)

englanti The short story "The Plymouth Express" (1923) in serial form isn't great, especially when knowing about the film version of the novel "The Mystery of the Blue Train" (1928). The subject matter may be very similar, but the 1991 episode of the show and the 2005 movie are completely different. ()

Döden på Nilen (2004) (S09E03)

englanti The TV transcript of Death on the Nile with Suchet may be one of the more popular versions, but it's still a cheap TV spectacle that pales in comparison to the film versions. Yes, Suchet is excellent, but his teammates fall short and the beauty of Egypt doesn't shine through as much. The only one who later made it big was the local Linnet Ridgeway - Emily Blunt. This role was originally given to the then dark-haired beauty Lois Chiles from The Great Gatsby in the 1970s, who later became a Bond Girl. Thirty years later, they tried to make a change and Linnet became a beginner blonde, who made a name for herself only after she reverted to dressing dark. Today, the proud Linnet is again the dark-haired action protagonist Gal Gadot from Israel. The famous Suchet series, therefore, did not play a decisive role in this trend. ()

Mysteriet på Blå tåget (2005) (S10E01)

englanti Although Agatha considered "The Mystery of the Blue Train" (1928) to be her weakest novel, she was apparently the only one who thought so. She had only begun developing herself professionally, in this case developing the short story "The Plymouth Express" (1923). In the TV version with Suchet's Poirot, it's a delight and a treat. The damsel in distress is played by the sexy Jaime Murray, and all the characters around her also have the proper spark. Especially the successful family, where you are not sure who is the mother and who is the daughter. Poirot himself flutters around the sweet little lady and gives out smiles on cue. It's a scandal. ()
