Agatha Christie's Poirot

Another great episode that shows that the longer duration of the series suits it well, because it is possible to play out the whole game in a more complex and interesting way. Here, anyone can be the murderer again, and the individual clues are beautifully scattered throughout the whole story. And yes, I was pleased that I had revealed the killer before Poirot did. These long episodes are simply worth it. It's entertaining, but what's more, there's a plot that's incredibly interesting. It starts off with just some things disappearing, but gradually leads to the uncovering of the real truth. The uncovering is gradual, but very effective and efficient. This time it will be hard for you to figure out who the real murderer is, even though you might have an idea why. (14.03.2015)

Maybe it was because I was quite tired, but this episode didn't really impress me much. It's not as complicated as it seems, but on the other hand, it's still very entertaining, which definitely does a great service to this series. After a while, we returned to this amazing series and I must say that I really liked this episode again. The framework is clear. There are many suspects, with anyone capable of committing the murder. But the individual killings are still imaginative, and there are characters that interest you. The development of the Poirot myth continues to succeed amazingly. (19.04.2015)

I was a little disappointed that the specific form of the novel didn't actually make it into the movie, but that doesn't change the fact that this is an interesting story in which Hercule Poirot doesn't lose any of his strength, even though he has decided to retire. Such a beautifully tangled plot that unfolds slowly, but thanks to the return of Hastings and the reunion of all the characters (Poirot, Hastings, Japp, and Miss Lemon), it can be easily digested because it is followed by a intricately woven chase for the murderer that is truly beautiful. I simply enjoy these longer episodes. You can hardly tell that it was filmed after the year 2000. Hercule Poirot is still funny, and you can see that his character has evolved. That's very good. In addition, this case is brilliantly complicated, which is evident in the final resolution, which is very imaginative. Excellent episode. (25.04.2015)

It reminded me too much of the previous installment "Evil Under the Sun", especially in terms of plot composition, when there was even something extra to confuse the viewer, perhaps unnecessarily. Nevertheless, a complex story is created here. And a bit stretched. Excellent piece, which also has an interesting narrative form, to which the visual aspect of the film is overall adapted, both in the case of flashbacks and in the case of the present. It is beautifully intricate, and until the end, you will not know who the real murderer is and why. Brilliantly filmed. It doesn't matter at all that there is not a hint of humor here. For quite a long time, you don't even have the feeling that a crime actually occurred. However, Poirot will show you that the crime did happen and confronts the murderer in a rather interesting form, where there is no traditional group gathering where Poirot speaks, but rather a variation that is quite intriguing and innovative. A classic Poirot-like story that might not be as perfect in this rendition, but still entertaining. Here, it is very noticeable that Poirot has shifted towards a slightly more modern approach, such as in terms of brutality, which is considerably higher in this film. I am a bit disappointed that the humor disappeared, but the serious storyline fits well. (01.05.2015)

One of those slightly weaker parts that are still immensely above average. A slightly different storytelling style is chosen, and the story tries to be a bit more action-packed, interesting, and creative towards the end, and it succeeds to some extent, although not perfectly. This episode simply didn't sit well with me. It's also in how much focus there is on the details of the faces. It just bothered me quite a bit, as well as the whole story, which for me only became interesting essentially at the very end, when Poirot invited everyone to his place again. Such a quite classic episode, which is quite pleasantly spiced up by the fact that there can be a killer here, as a large number of people who gather at a party have actually killed someone in the past. Poirot is unsure, but of course, he will solve it. These new episodes have an interesting, creamy color palette, which I really like. (13.05.2015)

Excellent story on which this detective story is based appears at first glance to be almost straightforwardly resolved, but that is only because it is well written. The simple revelation is more due to the fact that you think it was clear all along, but in reality, it is not. Great characters, familiar names, and an excellent Poirot who remains wonderfully self-centered. (17.05.2015)

These last parts are quite pleasantly tangled, when you really wait to see how it will be solved because nothing is clear at first glance. This idea that Poirot can save a man who was probably wrongly accused of murder and is to be hanged is not fundamentally original, but it adds an extra element to it and you want to know how it all ends. A great story where there are so many things that will grab your attention that you simply cannot figure out who the murderer is. As soon as Poirot begins unraveling everything, you will be literally amazed at what other stories can be invented and what all the reasons for murder are. Secret identities, interesting characters, and a new environment. Everything works perfectly. (21.05.2015)

Again, a beautifully tangled episode where you simply enjoy watching Poirot unravel who the actual murderer is. In this case, however, it is definitely not as simple as it may seem, and Poirot reveals so many facts that will simply surprise you. And I mean that in the most positive way possible. I have a feeling that these last parts belong to the truly best ones because I am entertained not only by a great story, but also by slightly more famous actors who appear here. This is exactly the case when I am captivated by a tangled story, which traditionally has several culprits and various acts, but above all, everything fits together thanks to the great characters and the brilliant Poirot.
