The ordinary life of 17-year-old otaku Hajime Nagumo is disrupted when he and his classmates are summoned to a fantasy world and tasked with saving mankind. While his classmates are gifted with impressive abilities useful in combat, Hajime is belittled for only gaining an inferior transmutation skill that lacks any real offensive power. During an expedition in the Great Orcus Labyrinth, Hajime is betrayed by one of his classmates, plummeting him to the bottom of an abyss. Though he survives the fall, Hajime is faced with menacing monsters and misfortunes that send him spiraling into a grim nightmare. Desperate to live and return home one day, he resolves to fight for his survival - only to meet an imprisoned vampire he names Yue, who is also seeking to escape the labyrinth. Taking an interest in him, Yue and a few others along the way accompany Hajime on his journey to find a way back home, while steadily transforming from commonplace to the world's strongest. englanti This is not about some righteous main male protagonist with a shield out for revenge, and it is not about an interesting or somehow fun main male protagonist who can acquire special abilities by eating other people (like in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime). This is just another isekai harem anime series that has the same quality as a B-movie and is completely lacking an introduction or explanation of what the main male protagonist and his classmates are up to, what they are really doing, or what problems they face... The whole plot seems to be about (not) explaining all of this in a completely convoluted way throughout, until the moment when the main male protagonist just starts ranting at the teacher, giving such a huge infodump, that it left me scratching my head wondering where that all came from… Instead of some exposition of the narrative, there are just some girls gathered into a harem, crawling around in some dungeons because that is where the greatest power that can supposedly send the main male protagonist back home is hidden. There are some general global problems which are then dealt with that the audience could not have even known existed until the last moment. The main male protagonist is of course the coolest guy ever, and even if he "only" has transmutation abilities, in practice that means he can wipe his ass with MacGyver himself, because making a bomb out of shit is epic, however, making an anti-tank cannon, an off-road truck, and other useful things out of thin air is just in another league. However, I would have swallowed that too, because magic is all-powerful, but then there are the fight scenes and especially the CGI which are so horrendous! The combination of traditional animation styles and CGI just does not work in the slightest, the monsters look very unrealistic, the movements during the fight scenes are absolutely hopeless - in other words, this is definitely not what I wanted to see during the most intense scenes. So, why did I watch it for so long? Well, it was because I had been trying to figure out what some of my favorite reviewers saw in it! What did I get out of it? I ended up with the best butt-plug in a dragon's anus ever, and another Pokémon - excuse me, I mean another girl for the harem... I might have enjoyed it when I was fifteen years old, plus if I had not seen so many isekai and harem anime series, I might have even praised it for some distinct originality. However, as it is I did not find anything special about this show, and the crappy action scenes and ugly fight scenes made it irredeemable. Dropped after the ninth episode, and I am not going to award it more than 3.5/10. ()
