As a ferry carrying 300 passengers from Denmark pulls into an Icelandic town s small port, heavy snow begins to fall. The ferry can't leave until the storm passes and the main road into town is impassable. A mutilated and dismembered body washes on the shore, an unidentifiable man murdered only hours ago. The local police chief, Andri Olafssun, whose personal life is in shatters, realises a killer has descended into his town. As word spreads, order disintegrates into chaos as the ferry s passengers and the town s residents realise they are all possible suspects and that a killer is trapped among them. (Arrow Films)

Season 1 (2016) (S01)

englanti I enjoyed the first season more than I’d expected. At first, I didn't think I would like it so much, but the creators did everything right. It’s great that they didn't just focus on the investigation itself, but also on what motivated each of the characters’ actions and on their family background. I liked both the theme and its execution, and the cast topped it all off. Especially Ólafur Darri Ólafsson and Ilmur Kristjánsdóttir gave impressive performances. I had a great time, and I’m looking forward to the second season. ()

Episode 1 (2016) (S01E01)

englanti After the first episode, I can say that I saw the beginning of a typically Nordic affair. The traditional gloomy atmosphere, scythe, malamutes bending in corners, and a charismatic main hero cannot be missing. The creators really succeeded with him this time, I always enjoy seeing Ólafur Darri Ólafsson. ()

Episode 2 (2016) (S01E02)

englanti I am still satisfied, the second episode continued its atmosphere from the previous part, the course of events around the detained Lithuanian strongly reminded me of the tragicomic series Fargo, the winter was even more chilling than in the first part, the creators managed to maintain tension and I also enjoyed the interestingly evolving plot. ()

Episode 3 (2016) (S01E03)

englanti I don't see a reason to change the rating, because the series maintains a stable quality even in the third episode. I must say that it is one of the best works, especially if you watch it during the summer season, it works better than air conditioning. Sometimes I even felt like I was in a commercial for a retail chain, that's what happens when Perla and Maggi start a conversation :-) ()

Episode 4 (2016) (S01E04)

englanti This time, I decided to go all out, besides the fact that the fourth episode was traditionally high-quality, the creators also focused more on the psychology of individual characters, but most importantly, they introduced a curious disabled character into action, similar to Cimrman, and I can't just overlook that. ()

Episode 5 (2016) (S01E05)

englanti Already, I thought about giving the fifth episode only three stars, because I felt that the pace somewhat dropped and the episode seemed a bit uninteresting to me. However, there was ultimately an improvement, I learned several important facts, and the ending was really well-done, so 4*. ()

Episode 6 (2016) (S01E06)

englanti This was a really successful piece! The longer it is investigated, the more confused I am. It's starting to feel like Murder on the Orient Express, so that in the end Andri doesn't have to imprison the entire population. I had a great time and it doesn't look like that's going to change. ()

Episode 7 (2016) (S01E07)

englanti So I was served another excellent episode from frozen Iceland. The screenwriter clearly considers himself to be the best, the atmosphere seems to be getting better and better, and the investigation had to take a back seat when Andri and Trausti measured who could pee farther. The jump was successful, but I wouldn't recommend it as an adrenaline sport. ()

Episode 8 (2016) (S01E08)

englanti With each subsequent episode, I enjoy myself more and more. I can't get rid of the feeling that the more the investigation reveals, the less I know. And that's great! The worst part is when I can deduce who the culprit is right at the beginning of the series and then I have to wait for x episodes before it is officially confirmed. That didn't happen here, and I'm satisfied. ()

Episode 9 (2016) (S01E09)

englanti The pace of the story has indeed slowed down a bit, but there was a good reason for it. While family relationships were inseparably intertwined with police investigation, I silently hoped that there would be no unnecessary outbursts of emotions. But here I am in Iceland, where American manners are not really common, so I am satisfied, even enthusiastic. ()

Episode 10 (2016) (S01E10)

englanti The tenth episode brought a great conclusion to the first season. I was absolutely satisfied, I didn't even suspect the real killer (if they can be called that), again there was the excellent atmosphere, the action brought well-escalated tension and fortunately, there was no cheesy happy ending at the end, on the contrary, I got a few good reasons to contemplate.
