The Saint is approached by British intelligence, learning that the Russians are planning to free their spy John Spring when he appears at court. Spring is really a double agent and the Saint is asked to ensure that he eludes the Russians. At the same time Spring's wife comes to see the Saint, offering money to help her husband escape.
