Moa Martinson – Landsmodern

The documentary filmmaker Maj Wechselman has repeatedly come back to Göteborg Film Festival with her films. Social pathos permeates it all, along with ardent political commitment and a personal view. The same applies as she now – together with the professor of comparative literature and nationally well-known feminist Ebba Witt-Brattström – portrays one of the former century’s most significant Swedish authors and an obvious face of the women’s rights movement in Sweden. By gathering inspiration and stories from her own life, Martinson turned towards a new and previously neglected readership – working class women. (Göteborg Film Festival)
