Never-ending reruns on TV actually made me adopt the series as my own. Then followed a few years of rest and doubts whether it had aged too much, but now for its twentieth anniversary, I'm planning a rewatch. That's because recently I've seen some gems again like The One Where Monica And Richard Are Just Friends and I had to watch it three times. Courteney Cox and Tom Selleck are among the best straight couples that make me blush. And then Joey and Rachel were reading "The Shining" and "Little Women" and decided to put those books in the freezer because it was all too much for them... Classic. (03.02.2009)

Rewatching this on the day when the president of the Czech Republic signed the partnership agreement has a deep importance for me. While back then in 1996, the lesbian wedding was still partially the culmination of running jokes, in the following decades, we could see how the real world around us was changing. And maybe also thanks to such gentle polishing of edges as in this series. In the Czech Republic, it will take some time, but the first steps have already been taken. In the field of American sitcoms, a few weeks earlier there was also a gay wedding in Roseanne - December Bride. (29.04.2024)
