englanti Although it has more episodes than a stupid soap opera, almost every one of them maintains a high standard, wit and some are almost genius. Watching it is like visiting old friends on a regular basis and feeling at ease. ()

englanti An iconic sitcom that suffers from perhaps all the usual ailments that a sitcom can suffer from (repetition of identical plots, limited repertoire of jokes, frequent slides to morality at all costs), but unlike 99% of US series production, it is excellently acted, has an irresistible sense of the darkest humor, and its characters easily become a part of your life. For me personally, this was my first contact with the genre that the set bar, and to this day no other has surpassed it... ()

englanti Love or hate. One group starts smiling sweetly during a randomly captured rerun, the other wants to get rid of the TV forever because they have been continuously showing that damn M.A.S.H. for twenty years. I belong to the first group, even though it's not a pure five-star experience after watching all the episodes. Some episodes really lose momentum, but that makes me appreciate even more those gems that never age and my favorite characters, Hawkeye and Radar. I can watch all eleven seasons over and over again. That slight overestimation and childish love that turned into adult love is exactly what I appreciate. ()

englanti During its broadcast on the American television market, this sitcom was very popular, managing to empty entire streets despite the exceptionally high competition from other TV stations. The creators approached the subject differently than Altman, who directed a very raw and unpleasant anti-war film about the absurdities of war. The series M*A*S*H is clearly more mainstream, full of positively-tuned humor, with an emphasis on humanistic values while maintaining the original anti-war sentiment of the story. The series was successful practically everywhere it appeared, and as far as I know, it received exceptional reception, especially in Israel, where they have their own experiences with war, so why not at least laugh about it? For me, MASH was never a full-fledged cult show, and I was bothered by a certain slickness of the environment. Above all, the quality of the series declined over time, with later episodes sometimes even plagiarizing themselves. Overall impression: 75%. ()

englanti Not that anyone cares, but for all the positives, the humor, and Hawkeye... there's not much of the 1950s in it. Or Margaret and her 1970's Charlie's Angels style. But I do love all the pop culture references, especially to classic Hollywood. ()

englanti I can watch M*A*S*H anytime and anywhere. A series packed with jokes, but, unlike what many say, it doesn't make fun of the war, it takes the war deadly serious. But for some people, humour is a better weapon than a gun. ()
