Thirty-eight year old Edwin Borsheim of the Southern California hardcore metal punk band Kettle Cadaver was once known for his bizarre stage antics and brutal self-mutilation that included face stapling gential hooking and animal carcass fornication. Years after the bands demise, Borsheim lives in complete isolation on his acre of land in which he is surrounded by many of the gruesome things he has created. While those closest to Borsheim dissect his mental complexities, the man himself reflects on his troubled past including his battles with drug and alcohol abuse, the contentious relationship with ex-wife Eva O and the suicide of his father. Jai Love’s stunning debut documentary Dead Hands Dig Deep takes us a harrowing journey as he shines a spotlight on one of music’s most tortured individuals. Repeating the phrase “It’s only a movie” will not help you here as everything you are about to see is 100% shockingly real. (Monster Pictures)
