The director’s alter ego uses an actual family party in the German countryside as a silent farewell, since he wants to build a new life among the Mexican Huicholes. In Jalisco they take part in gory fertility rites, shamans connect at night with hidden realms of ghosts and ancestors, and Florian becomes more and more estranged from his old self.
