Türelem

A father-and-son-make-waves-double feature! We begin with Türelem, the short that first drew attention to the name of Nemes László who by now is famous world wide for his Academy Award-winning concentration camp-drama Saul fia (2015). Türelem already hints at the vision that would make audiences world-wide gasp at while swoon over Saul fia: A slice of daily life is taken under close scrutiny – here: that of an office worker. Nemes became also known as an alumnus of Tarr Béla whom he assisted on A londoni férfi (2007) – while only few people, it seems, are aware of the fact that his father is one of Hungary's all-time greatest auteurs: Jeles András; in fact, Nemes himself is reluctant to talk about it – not due to any family disagreements, only because he doesn't want to cash in on his family name, the way, it seems, quite a few of his contemporaries do...
