A must-see thing for SW fans. A good spin-off from the classic films that is quite high in quality, somewhere on the level of Rogue One. It has fresh and unobtrusive humour, likable characters and a Mandalorian, to whom the creators subtly try to give a kind of mystical dimension of a star hunter and the best warrior of the galaxy. And it quite works, really. The actors are also good. Gina Carano is a hit, as is Werner Herzog with his raspy voice. And Baby Yoda is a great screenwriting idea. Bring in Season 2. (23.02.2020)

An emotionally and aesthetically good throwback to the most entertaining and playful Star Wars era at the turn of the new millennium. A bit stumbling in emotions, but maybe it's just a flaw of the start, when there is no time while introducing the main characters. (23.02.2020)

An episode filled with gadgets and monsters, a bit evoking the battle arena from Star Wars Episode 2, only in a more refined and darker design with less colours. Unfortunately, though, this side mission doesn’t add any dimension to the story. (23.02.2020)

A lot of action that is overall averagely executed. But you can't deny verve and the special sympathy for the protagonist, who has his own specific methods and ideology. (23.02.2020)

Kind of a relaxing rural episode. An interesting new world and a “Star-Wars” fight with a robot. Otherwise, a bit cliché including the predictable twist. (23.02.2020)

A fan-fest for all SW geeks. Tatooine, a dusty spacecraft workshop, lots of desert, gliders and of course some action. Not much in terms of filmmaking, but fans will surely give it one more star. (23.02.2020)

A minimalist prison and a very interesting squad of bounty hunters who are more than worthy competition for the Mandalorian, each of them completely different, plus more and more SW winks in the form of X-wings and hyperspace travel – the only thing missing are light sabres. A very good episode, atmospheric and with growing tension. (23.02.2020)

An above-average set-up for the finale and the first truly emotional episode that, unlike the rest, offers more than just action, exploring new corners of the galaxy and cool banter. (23.02.2020)

The best episode. A balanced mix of humour, action, an excellent finale and a delicious lure for the next season, which may well be far more epic and spectacular than the down-to-earth first. Actually, the eight episode is several highlights edited into one whole. Waititi approaches it smartly and with feeling, and everything works out well. (23.02.2020)

Fast, brisk and at times a bit monotonous and schematic, relying on the guaranteed aura of the Star Wars universe, but to be honest, it usually works. And even though most of the episodes are basically one and done in terms of plot, The Mandalorian is packed with so many references and classic SW tropes that it can be forgiven. Pascal is one of the few actors where his voice is enough for all the acting. (17.02.2021)

The second season picks up exactly where the first left off. It's fast-paced, fresh, full of references to the classic films while still having some humour and funny moments to lighten things up. The Mandalorian is looking like Indiana Jones from the future and from a different galaxy. Great action with the desert worm, and top-notch visuals for a series production. (14.02.2021)

A bit self contained episode about a cave full of spiders, but Reed manages to film it in a very suspenseful style so that the viewer doesn't get bored. There’s very little shift in the plot, but there’s a lot of eye candy fun. (14.02.2021)

More serious and darker than the previous episodes. More focused on the characters and the mythology, and thus the shift in the story, rather than on mere antics. (14.02.2021)

Mando must complete another secondary mission to move forward in the primary one. A bit repetitive and simple, but visually captivating enough that why not. This time, however, the crew didn't have as much fun as last time and I wouldn't rank the attack on the base among the best moments of the series so far. (14.02.2021)

Laser nostalgia and finally they talk about the force. It took a long time, but we have the first Jedi. The choreography is good, some moments are extraordinary and the inspiration from the East is obvious. (15.02.2021)

A somewhat erratic action ride featuring an old familiar face that is appropriately charismatic as it once was. Grogu fills up the tank and carries on. Perhaps only the scene with the troopers jumping between the stones was a bit chaotic and technically not very good. But the story still has a hell of a pace, we'll see about the finale. A big pop corn ride from beginning to end. Original production design, great visual effects and original devices and plot structure. Granted, it's actually a script full of side kicks and secondary quests, but there's always someone on the scene worth watching. In this case, it was Bill Burr. (15.02.2021)

Hands down, the best episode of the second season. Action-packed, including an impressive fight between Mando and a robot that goes beyond the otherwise usually routinely edited shooters, a cute farewell and a suitably iconic finale with a digitized face that was perhaps the only thing one that didn't quite work. But what does it matter when it feels so bloody close to the classic Star Wars that everyone loves so much. (17.02.2021)

The third season abandons the classic episodic nature of the first two and builds a more comprehensive story that weaves through all the episodes of the most recent seasons so far. At first, the cards are laid out a little clumsily and slowly, and you don’t really know what to expect in the next episodes, but from about the halfway point on, the third season of The Mandalorian picks up a good pace and heads confidently towards a bombastic finale. There is no shortage of SW gadgets and quite a few amusing moments, especially around Grogu. As an epic Star Wars alternation it's only intermittent, but it is a feel good series almost constantly.
