Glitch

After the first season, I was very satisfied and looked forward to the next one. I liked the theme, and although it was not exactly an action series, the story was fast-paced. However, with each new season, the quality of the screenplay decreased, and my satisfaction followed suit. From the beginning of the series, the writers posed a number of questions that I really wanted to know the answers to. It gradually dawned on me that the screenwriter couldn’t care less about answers. Everything was simply attributed to a higher power, be it the laws of the universe, nature or the bearded guy on a cloud. A disappointment. (17.12.2019)

I’m not going to say that the Australians surprised me because that would be a lie. They didn’t. I knew the series would be great because New Zealand and Australia have, in addition to excellent rugby players, high-quality filmmakers. I enjoyed this completely different take on zombies. I typically reserve three stars for opening episodes, but this time, I gave a bit more. It's not often that creators portray the zombies as anything other than mindless, slow brain-munchers, so I appreciated this fresh take. Although, I must say, I was taken aback by the Australian tradition of burying the dead naked. I get it, why splurge on Armani for the departed? It's just that this custom hasn't quite made its way here yet. (14.12.2019)

The series is labeled as drama, but I find myself laughing along with Paddy Fitzgerald every time. Despite not much happening in this episode, I still found it entertaining. It's getting strange how I'm consistently drawn in without any major plot developments. (14.12.2019)

The plot didn't make much progress, but it did offer some insights into the two most enigmatic characters. And as always, Paddy provided some much-needed entertainment. Not to play doctor, but if I were in Kirsten's shoes, I wouldn't have risked jumping into the lake with an infected foot. (14.12.2019)

It suddenly got pretty warm, and I didn't mind it one bit; in fact, it even had me chuckling at times. Paddy brought his usual levity to the scene, and Vic's storyline picked up speed (literally, in his case). James's expression during the exchange between his wives was absolutely priceless! In the finale, the missing piece of a more action-packed plot was finally added to the mix, complementing what worked for me in previous episodes. While the creators continue to dodge questions like a pro, they've only made things more tangled with additional mysteries. After feeling enthusiastic about the first season, the second one was a sobering experience. At times it felt like watching one of the weaker seasons of Walking Dead or Lost. The plot was terribly stretched out in places, someone was constantly looking for someone else, and there was hardly any actual development of the story. Although there were a few bright moments, I'm not looking forward to the third season very much. (15.12.2019)

I had high praise for the first season, but the kickoff to the second one didn't quite win me over. The army of undead terminators seems to be growing at lightning speed, and there's a sudden surge in side characters, some of whom might be crucial to the plot... or not. Yet, the main storyline feels like it's hit a standstill. But hey, at least I've learned that when an undead killer comes knocking, it's time to prepare a hot beverage. (15.12.2019)

Well, it seems like the quality took a bit of a dip compared to the last season. Things weren't exactly action-packed back then either, but at least there was a sense that stuff was going down. After the last episode, I thought the series was getting back on track, but boy, was I wrong. The fourth episode felt like it hit the brakes hard, especially with Kirsten's investigation dragging on forever with those endless conversations. Even Paddy's storyline isn't hitting the same highs as before. The only saving grace was the twist right at the end. (15.12.2019)

Sadly, the creators couldn't quite live up to the success of the first season. The penultimate episode was filled with a lot of empty chatter, and it felt like the undead characters were constantly wandering off and needing to be tracked down. It reminded me a bit too much of The Walking Dead with all that aimless wandering in the woods. (15.12.2019)

It's disappointing that most episodes of the second season didn't quite hit this mark. While the final episode had its flaws (like James miraculously identifying the projectile's origin with just a glance), overall, it worked pretty well for me. Surprisingly, I even picked up on some hints that I didn't expect, which was a nice bonus. (15.12.2019)

The third season only deepened my disappointment after the second season. The creators focused on new subplots made possible by adding new characters. The things I was interested in were pushed to the sidelines, so I finally realized that the writer bit off more than he could chew. (17.12.2019)

The beginning of the third season was pretty bad. It feels like the creators are dancing around crucial details without getting anywhere near the point. They keep introducing new characters, but instead of clarifying things, the story just gets tangled up, turning into something that's starting to smell like a heap of... well, you know. (16.12.2019)

The episode ended up being a tad better than the opener, thanks to William's storyline injecting a bit of substance into the mix. However, I found myself less invested in what was going on with Kate, and James' comeback wasn't exactly something I was eagerly anticipating. (16.12.2019)

On the surface, this episode seemed packed with plot and action, but here's the thing... They ended up delving into the less significant stuff about individual characters while the main storyline took a backseat. But hey, I guess with only six episodes, they've gotta stretch it out somehow, right? (16.12.2019)

The episode gave me the same vibes as the last one — stuff happens, but by the end, you realize you haven't learned anything important. Plus, the Chinese guy isn't doing it for me; I'm just not a fan of overacting. 3*- (17.12.2019)
