The intimacy of a hotel room. The immensity of a desert. A desolate gas station. In these picturesque settings, hideous crimes occur under the cold stare of unexpected protagonists that show the dark, twisted and perverse sides of human existence. But what if there was only a thin line between victims, criminals and spectators? Aren't we all morbid monsters when you get down to the nightmare nitty-gritty? (FrightFest)

englanti The Dhogs screenplay plays games with the festival viewer, as its unpredictable scene sequence forces you to agree to the rule that it can develop in any direction and does not always have to make sense. That sort of thing makes a movie more interesting if it also manages to engage the audience. Dhogs alludes to the moviegoer’s (and theatregoer’s) voyeurism and hunger for forbidden fruit and violence. And if it was longer and a child had not taken over the wheel, instead keeping it “adult” (as a Sitges Film Festival visitor would have liked), I might’ve given it four stars. Shame on me!
