T for Taj Mahal

In Bajjar, 60 km. from Agra, there is no school and almost everyone is illiterate. Bansi sets up a roadside eatery where, instead of paying for their meals, customers have the option of teaching the village children in a makeshift school behind the restaurant. When the customer-teachers defect to a swanky, air-conditioned restaurant that opens nearby, the villagers rally behind Bansi to win them back. (Montreal World Film Festival)
