This is a British documentary presented by Gemma Chan, an actress known from Channel 4's sci-fi Humans. This TV series takes place in a world which struggles with the fact that humanoid robots which are indistinguishable from real people have become an integral part of society. Everything changes when the robots develop consciousness similar to humans. Scientist and engineers in the documentary present the current state of the art in robotics and artificial intelligence research. Their main goal is to create a copy of the leading actress – a fully functional robot, capable of communicating with humans. Speech is the key ability for the development of artificial intelligence, a machine which displays some aspects of intelligent behaviour and is capable of making decisions similar to humans. This documentary shows that self-driving cars must be able to evaluate the possible consequences of a car accident, and not only that they are capable of autonomous learning, but they make decisions just like a human judge. Nevertheless, futurologists and experts on AI warn us that these technological advances might pose certain risks. (Academia Film Olomouc)
