In 1938, a duo of travelling vaudeville artists gives performances to entertain republican soldiers. They are accompanied by Gustavete, a boy who became mute as a result of a trauma suffered during bombarding. He wants them to return to safer Valencia but they end up in the territory of the enemy, where they are forced to perform for the nationalists. (Summer Film School)
