I would probably describe the first season as weird. About halfway through, I was convinced that I would give a “Boo!” rating to the rest of the episodes, too, but either the second half was better, or it seemed to me that way because I got numb. If the authors’ intention was for me to root for Mary, they didn’t succeed. Despite all the talk about reducing suffering and about people’s freedom to make their own decisions, you could hear the rustling of those thousands of Canadian dollar bills way too often. Well, I went into the first episode expecting some solid drama, but what I got was more like a bizarre comedy. Seriously, both of those "facilitators" were way off the mark, and don't even get me started on the police. Wow, the characters in this episode were even more outlandish than in the pilot! It's like they all collectively decided to crank up the absurdity dial. And don't even get me started on the questionable decisions they make. While I'm all for discussing important topics like assisted suicide, the way it's portrayed here left me scratching my head. Well, it seems like the creators are on a mission to outdo themselves with each new episode, and boy, are they succeeding! It's getting increasingly absurd. The only ones who are not after Mary at this point are the firefighters. And as for Mary's next move, who knows what she won't be able to hide from her daughters - perhaps a video with euthanasia or some spicy stuff with Ben? The anticipation is killing me! (26.08.2019)

You know what? I'm still on the hunt for that drama. And call me crazy, but I can't shake the feeling that either the scriptwriter was on something or there's some kind of alternate reality where the rules are different, because Ben Wesley's actions just don't add up. While the plot in the final episode still felt a bit contrived, it didn't quite reach the same level of ridiculousness as it did in the second and third episodes. After watching the first season, I expected the second one to be worse, but I was still surprised by the extremely poor quality of some episodes. The second episode brought me back to reality with a thud. At first, I thought it was just me, but now it's crystal clear: the confusion lies squarely with the writer. It's not just that half the cast seems to have facial expressions on permanent vacation, but the script is starting to eat its own tail. In the first season, assisted suicide was a big no-no and had to be kept under wraps, but now they've turned it into a family get-together with the cops pitching in. So, suddenly, it's all good? This time around, the creators seemed to go overboard. I get it's a Canadian show, but some of the police procedures felt a bit far-fetched. And that whole attempt to mend things with the daughter? Pathetic. As for that operation scene... "What? It's bleeding a lot? Vein's nicked? No worries, we'll just stitch it up. And voila! Good as new!" Not even Wolverine could compete with that. This is getting downright ridiculous. Mary and Des seem to wear gloves to every event, and their penchant for destroying evidence is just plain baffling when everyone in town knows about what they do.
