Hotel (2015) (S05)

englanti I was generally satisfied, except for the somewhat lackluster finale and several plot digressions which barely had any impact on the story itself (vampire students). I appreciated how the filmmakers shrewdly avoided the hassle of creating scary monsters by casting Lady Gaga. She gave me the creeps every time she appeared on screen. I was amused by the recycling of Finn Wittrock, which was a great move. The star of this season for me was definitely Denis O'Hare, whose performance was excellent. ()

Checking In (2015) (S05E01)

englanti The first episode of the fifth season didn't convince me in any special way. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either, it was just average for me, and unfortunately the creators also cast Lady Gaga, which didn't please me too much (a heavy euphemism). ()

Devil's Night (2015) (S05E04)

englanti This time it was much better, Devil's Night pleased me, I enjoyed being able to recognize individual guests before the host introduced them. I was also intrigued by the story of the hotel's laundry and the storyline with Alex and Holden. ()

Room Service (2015) (S05E05)

englanti The plot has noticeably come alive in the last two episodes, Liz Taylor's story was pretty good, I just don't understand the purpose of the storyline about spreading the vampire virus in the school. What should I expect now? Either the city will be taken over by vampires or, on the contrary, they will hunt them for the rest of the series, otherwise, I really don't know. ()

Room 33 (2015) (S05E06)

englanti The plot of the sixth episode was quite fast-paced, even though it mainly focused on relationships and family. The solutions themselves were fortunately interesting, so I wasn't bored. The most interesting part was that the creators closed off their own school storyline, so I don't know if the virus has faded away or if the problem will resurface later. ()

She Wants Revenge (2015) (S05E09)

englanti In the ninth episode, the creators decided to return to important matters, such as long-delayed revenge. Paradoxically, they also return to less important matters, and so after three episodes, vampire students have returned, who I don't really enjoy, but I was curious why they appeared in the series at all. I still don't know. ()

Battle Royale (2016) (S05E11)

englanti The penultimate episode perfected what the previous part began, everything was working fine overall, but the ending of the storyline with vampire schoolchildren was desperate. Not that I didn't expect something like this, but it disappointed me that the creators were delaying me with such a senseless dead end. ()

Be Our Guest (2016) (S05E12)

englanti The final episode disappointed me. It was tired, uninteresting, and the Devil's Night recycling was uninspired. I definitely imagined the end of the season to be more inventive and lively (although there weren't many lively ones left). ()

Roanoke (2016) (S06)

englanti I can't remember ever giving the episodes of a single season the whole spectrum of ratings. Season 6 of American Horror Story is unique in this regard. I was pleased and excited by the first episode, followed by a slight disappointment. Then, from the sixth episode on, it all went completely south. In the second half, the creators tried to compensate for the lack of atmosphere and tension with ever more frequent gore, which was totally unimaginative, as if following the recipe: "If you don’t have atmosphere, add two buckets of blood, one bucket of entrails, and the viewer will surely be delighted." Watching this pathetic effort was the actual horror, and the season had five episodes too many for my taste. I'm giving it two stars out of pity. ()

Chapter 1 (2016) (S06E01)

englanti I must admit that the start of the sixth season was a big surprise for me. The hotel did not exactly impress me, and suddenly the creators came up with something completely different. True, the documentary style is something new in this series, but at the same time it was clear from the beginning who would survive, so more sensitive individuals were not subjected to stress over the fate of the main characters. ()

Chapter 2 (2016) (S06E02)

englanti The second episode of the sixth season followed in the footsteps of the first one, but already now, the documentary inserts that still left a refreshing impression on me in the previous episode started to bother me. Every time I managed to immerse myself in a definitely interesting plot, the creators insensitively brought me back to reality, and that annoyed me. ()

Chapter 3 (2016) (S06E03)

englanti After the third episode, I was somewhat confused. I didn't understand why the creators deviated from the originally set course, they must have noticed the loss of atmosphere. Barely had I complained about the documentary inserts after watching the previous episode, when I got an even larger portion of them, so I'd rather stay silent now. ()

Chapter 4 (2016) (S06E04)

englanti I added a star to the fourth episode because it was slightly better than the previous one, and I'm sure that the limited documentary elements played a significant role in it. I would prefer if the local witch drew her power only from the Moon, not that I'm a puritan, on the contrary, I would just prefer if the creators tried to scare me in a different way. ()

Chapter 5 (2016) (S06E05)

englanti I definitely could have done without some of the experiences in the sixth episode. I silently hoped that the creators would forget about the seemingly obligatory homosexual romance and, once again, there were way too many documentary inserts. Nonetheless, I appreciate the nice reminiscence of Annie Wilkes, despite Kathy Bates playing her role successfully in the series as Mother Polk. ()

Chapter 6 (2016) (S06E06)

englanti I didn't understand the second half of the sixth season at all. What were the creators actually aiming for? In the previous episodes, I was annoyed by the excessive use of documentary inserts, and the sixth episode is entirely shot in a documentary style just to be sure. The plot is blatantly illogical and stupid, and it starts to smell like a heavy disaster. ()

Chapter 7 (2016) (S06E07)

englanti In the seventh episode, I gave a star for the only moment that amused me a bit - Matty's death. Otherwise, everything was wrong. I got an upgrade to already shaky shots, each character also has their own camera, so I assume some viewers will have to take motion sickness pills while watching. The story itself doesn't make sense to evaluate, logic died right at the beginning and completely out of focus. ()

Chapter 8 (2016) (S06E08)

englanti I was looking for a reason to give the eighth episode at least one star, but nothing else occurred to me than the fact that I feel sorry for rating a series with trash that once managed to entertain me. It was even worse than the previous episode, the story replaced an almost continuous stream of violent scenes, which didn't impress me at all. They were too unremarkable and considering that I used to be a carnivore with my own livestock, more entrails passed through my hands than the creators probably could imagine. And just a final note - when repeatedly cutting meat off someone's thigh, shouldn't something be missing there? ()

Chapter 9 (2016) (S06E09) BOO!

englanti I apologize, but this time I couldn't hold myself back anymore. So far, this is undoubtedly the worst episode of American Horror Story that I have ever seen. Paradoxically, I have to admit that it was truly horrifying, the episode was incredibly stupid, and it seemed endlessly long to me. I was hoping that everyone would kill each other as quickly as possible, but no, the creators even threw in fresh meat to prolong this hellish annoyance as much as possible. This episode definitely deserves the award for the most horrifying shaky shots. ()

Chapter 10 (2016) (S06E10) BOO!

englanti The final episode only confirmed that I didn't rush with the waste in the previous episode. I didn't even want to comment on the plot anymore, but in the end, I can't help it because I somehow couldn't understand the creators' thought processes when it came to Flor's "kidnapping." Was it supposed to mean that when the kidnapper hides somewhere with his victim, the police immediately leave for a summer camp there? There was a lack of an honest barbecue and a friendly game of American football or baseball. A disaster. ()

Cult (2017) (S07)

englanti I had quite a few reasons to be dissatisfied. I'm not a fan of Donald Trump, but it seems cheap to build a whole season around the fight against him and his followers. Especially considering the movement which started among his opponents, in which men were judged without trial. This so-called democracy is not really that far from inquisitorial practices. As usual, I was extremely irritated by Sarah Paulson. As usual, Evan Peters’ performance was great, and one star goes to this season's surprise - Billie Lourd. ()
