The Conspiracy Road Trip series has an ambitious aim. It will present various proponents of conspiracy theories and attempt to confront their views with scientific arguments and learned views. While listening to the conspirators, the host of the show, the comedian Andrew Maxwell, maintains a restrained, almost sceptical attitude. The five conspirators will all introduce their fantastic theories in a bus travelling across California, Arizona and Nevada. Their guide and the host of the show will hear out their "testimonies" concerning flying objects or plans predicting a looming alien invasion. He will consequently attempt to refute their views with the support of scientists and rational thinking. The destination of the tour will be the mysterious Area 51, which is, according to many UFO conspirators, supposed to be hiding the hidden remains of an alien or a crashed flying saucer. The UFO part of the documentary aptly combines the documentary genre with a reality show and although it also contains comic elements, it aims at respecting different opinions.
