MonaLisa Story

MonaLisa lives a normal life as a teacher until depression and psychological illness fracture her existence. Lacking sufficient help and locked in a destructive behavioral pattern, she self-medicates with heroin and falls deeper and deeper into an addiction that causes her to lose everything. After several years of drug abuse she meets Fredrik, an equally frail and broken soul. Their destructive sides consummate each other as their addicitions drag them into the abyss, but their love for each other may also be their only chance of survival. Recorded over an eight-year period MonaLisa Story is an intimate portrait of a woman's life and struggle, and a settlement with everything ever labeled "heroin chic." (Göteborg Film Festival)
