Does contemporary architecture still comply with human needs? What if it were possible to build a house that was able to repair itself? In the future, how should we build our houses so that they can resist various environmental disasters? The Earth's climate is constantly changing, and the amount of damage caused by extreme weather conditions is growing year by year. With the rising of sea levels tropical storms grow in intensity; floods in Central Europe are increasing due to global warming, and countless areas are afflicted annually with tornadoes and hurricanes. The protagonists of this documentary – architects and project architects from different parts of the world – try to change current views on architecture. Accompanied by an expert on limate phenomena, they present their visionary projects of floating houses, extremely light buildings or mobile homes able to react to approaching tornadoes by lowering themselves beneath the ground. However, aren't some of these ideas too far-fetched? Is it even possible nowadays to complete these unconventional projects? (Academia Film Olomouc)
