englanti The Norwegians have a gift of making magnificent films with American qualities, from which they are happy to take on even that national American pathos. It’s a pity that from the historical point of view there is nothing extra and the only thing that will catch audience’s attention is the skiing Viking. ()

englanti Norwegian redheads versus greasy pigs from Denmark. The story is nice. Fresh fathers will especially appreciate the traveling winter care for infants, while conservatives will appreciate Gaup's emphasis on honest historical epics. Skiers will be impressed by lessons in historical carving, a kind of 13th century Force Majeure model. It is a pity that similar emphasis is not paid to the structure of the screenplay, which sprinkles like powder. And the action scenes definitely deserve at least a little tighter supervision from the choreographer; who is supposed to watch the confused stumbling block? But the Northerner wins with me. ()

englanti Historically, it's not particularly great; it's like it just meets the minimum, which is dictated by the setting. Action-wise, it's quite good and gritty, which you'll probably enjoy the most about the movie. It's not downright boring in terms of plot, but it's not breathtaking either, so you can enjoy the film, but it won't necessarily leave you with many impressions. ()

englanti Visually, The Last King is virtually perfect. It just doesn't seem to me that in 1204 most Norwegians would be traversing snowy mountainsides like Aksel Lund Svindal. However, the ski chases made the already quite thrilling spectacle even more interesting. From a historical point of view, the film is not very revelatory, but the viewer gets the basic information at least in written form. (70%) ()
