Simshar

This poignant and very urgent story is inspired by true events, following the crews of two boats in the Mediterranean Sea. Young Theo is going on his very first fishing expedition on a family boat called Simshar. Alex, a doctor, involuntarily finds himself on another boat which saves a group of refugees trying to get to the Italian coast. The help to the immigrants results in the authorities' aversion as they aren't willing to accept them in a foreign territory nor to send them back. After a tragic sequence of events, the sea turns into a setting for following dreams and bare survival for both crews. (Febiofest)
