Even though the sequel to My Father's Glory takes on some pretty dark connotations, especially at the end, it's still a film that manages to charm, and together with the first film it forms a pair that show both the beauty of the French countryside and the beauty of childhood, in a way that is both human and charming.

The sequel to the film My Father's Glory maintains remarkably consistent quality. Both films have such a charming narrative that I can't resist adding a fifth star. Perhaps it's also due to the nostalgic conclusion reflecting on the happy memories of childhood, where Marcel, with each passing year, realizes that the carefree days of youth are irretrievably gone due to life's trials and tribulations.
