Everyone knows that Perm is a theatre and ballet city. Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre is situated here, as well as the renowned ballet school. School's graduates are dancing on the best world stages. The spectators are also incredibly understanding and appreciative of the art. But very few people know that everything has started in the difficult years of the Great Patriotic War. At that time the Kirov Theatre (now the Mariinsky Theatre) and Vaganova ballet school were evacuated from the practically blockaded by the Nazis Leningrad to Molotov (such was Perm's name at that time).
