Robin’s impressions of Sloane’s mates after a night at the pub causes friction between her and Sloane. Sloane finally confesses to Mrs. Wyndham the truth about Janet’s absence. In flashback, we learn how Sloane came to lose his job and his wife in the same day. Desperate for employment, Sloane accepts a humiliating job, but gets his comeuppance with the school bullies. The episode introduced a serious, dramatic element to the story, which surprisingly didn’t bother me at all. It added new depth to the characters. However, what really annoyed me were the repeated visits from Mrs. Wyndham. I could have done without those.
