Max Simkin (Adam Sandler) korjaa kenkiä pienessä newyorkilaisessa suutariliikkeessä, jonka hänen sukunsa on omistanut jo sukupolvien ajan. Arjen harmaus uhkaa käydä puuduttavaksi, kunnes eräänä päivänä kaikki muuttuu. Ompelukone tekee tenän ja Max kaivaa takahuoneesta esiin ikivanhan varakoneen. Sandler failed miserably with this one. The movie was quite civil, but it could have at least been a bit watchable. This flick was incredibly boring and the Jewish music motifs didn’t make it better, either.

This ending feels terribly lost and gives you the feeling that something that could have been still interesting is cut in half, but there's nothing you can do about it. When it comes to a movie with Sandler, I simply can't be objective. I enjoyed this film, there are interesting actors here, and even though the plot is not well executed, the journey was interesting and imaginative in some places.
