Fargo

I really enjoyed the first season of Fargo. Oddly enough, I didn't mind it when there was almost zero plot sometimes, unless it came right after an action-packed episode. The entire first season was dominated by Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman, followed at some distance by Colin Hanks. I'm a little sorry that Keith Carradine’s character didn't get more screen time. Otherwise, I was very happy with the first season and had a good time. (17.02.2018)

The first episode of the first season kicked off the series in a fantastic way. The creators focused on creating a high-quality atmosphere and subtle tension, only to fill the ending with brutal action, thus setting the viewer up for the continuation, which they succeeded in doing with me. The casting of Billy Bob Thornton as Lorne Malvo and Martin Freeman as Lester Nygaard was absolutely brilliant, as these two give their characters the opportunity to truly come alive. (15.02.2018)

In the second episode, the plot did slow down a bit, but I still found some promising moments in it that will surely show in the upcoming episodes. The duo of men from Fargo, who are searching for Hess's killer, appears very promising, and I must praise Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman for their performances. (16.02.2018)

The story of the frozen man opened the third episode, and although this part wasn't particularly action-packed, I'm enjoying the series more and more. I also enjoy the many debates that are constantly happening here. I'm just disappointed that Malvo is no longer carrying out his little deceptions on unsuspecting residents. I have to commend Colin Hanks for his acting performance as well, along with the previously mentioned ones. (16.02.2018)

I really liked the pre-subtitle matters that explain parts of the story that precede the current plot. The plot of the fourth episode again proceeded very slowly, but it was greatly enlivened by the arrest of Lorne Malvo and the interesting experiences of Lester Nygaard. Mr. Numbers and Mr. Wrench did not disappoint me and I find them very entertaining. (16.02.2018)

After the story of how Lester got the shotgun, the plot of the fifth episode was also dragging a little for me. Basically, everything was going as usual, but I had a feeling that this time I was missing some sort of a spark that would serve as a small revival. Without it, this episode felt slightly dull to me. This time, I didn't think about anything else but full-on barrage. The lethargic pace of previous episodes was replaced by an action-packed rampage in the sixth episode and the transformation of Lester from a gray mouse into a cool-minded manipulator. As if that wasn't enough, Lorne Malvo prepared a great decoy to distract attention and met with both gentlemen from Fargo, which was quite entertaining. (16.02.2018)

The seventh episode belongs among those very successful ones. The change in Lester Nygaard's personality deepens, which could be attested by the widow of Mr. Hess and the effective actions of Lorne Malvo in Fargo hardly need a comment, it was great. The atmosphere, tension, and action were excellent, and the story gained a nice pace. (17.02.2018)

After the previous great episode, there was a slight disappointment that the slow pace returned and there was practically no development, unless I count the subtitle: "one year later," and the family changes of some characters. The story this time somehow stagnated, but I firmly believe in a great improvement. (17.02.2018)

After the breath-catching eighth part came the action-packed ninth episode with an absolutely gripping plot, and as a bonus, Lorne Malvo added one of his seemingly harmless tricks. It seems that Lester has completed his transformation into a repulsive monster with his cold-blooded decision at the end. The character development of Martin Freeman is among the best I have seen in television series. (17.02.2018)

I didn't even think that the creators could come up with a weak ending, so I wasn't surprised by its quality, rather I received exactly what I expected. A fantastic ending to the first season with a perfectly tuned atmosphere, full of tension and gripping action. (17.02.2018)

Season 2 of Fargo surprised me more than I'd expected. I thought I would sorely miss Lorne Malvo and Lester Nygaard from the first season, but the opposite was true. The creators went back in time, bringing daddy Lou, the tragicomic Blumquist couple, and terminator Ohanzee Dent, and launched a war between two mob families. As usual, they didn't forget to add great atmosphere, tension, brutal action and a whole series of situations in which characters died completely unnecessary deaths caused by sheer stupidity. The only problem I had was with the appearance of a UFO. On the other hand, I was absolutely thrilled by how the two seasons were linked. What a great series! (24.02.2018)

The first episode of the second season pleased me with a good dose of black humor, a promising story, the young dad Solverson, and most importantly, it seems that I will finally get an explanation for the Sioux Falls massacre that I have heard about many times before. The creators didn't hold back on the action this time, so I definitely evaluate the start of the series positively. (22.02.2018)

The pace of the second episode was significantly slower, and although the atmosphere from the first part remained, the action practically disappeared and the story is only refreshed by the presence of Mike Milligan and others, and the thorough cleaning performed by Ed Blumquist. After watching this part, I decided that I will only prepare ground meat myself to have a certainty about the ingredients used. (22.02.2018)

For me, the third episode was again a four-star one because the pace of the whole story remained too slow, the action practically did not happen again, and the only welcomed distraction was the conversation in front of the Gerhardt's headquarters and the farewell to Skip. I have to admit that I am a little disappointed, I had higher expectations after the first episode. (22.02.2018)

In the fourth episode, the atmosphere has greatly intensified, and although it wasn't exactly an action-packed episode, the pace slightly increased compared to the previous ones. True, there was mostly just debating, but this time the conversations, plans, and hidden threats managed to hold my interest, so I enjoyed it. (23.02.2018)

No doubt, the fifth episode brought me exactly the Fargo I was looking forward to. The completely insane and brutal action really suits this series, and Reagan's campaign tour was just the icing on the cake. The atmosphere was great, the tension was nicely intensified by the creators, and the action was fantastic, thanks to how the brutality was complemented by pitch-black humor. (23.02.2018)

The atmosphere remained great even in the sixth episode, the Gerhardt's journey to the city brought a special form of tension, where I couldn't tell if someone's nerves would snap and there would be one less character, or if everyone would keep their composure. Especially in the case of lawyer Karl, I understood the state of his pants. I finally realized why the creators sometimes refer to UFOs, because the Blumquists behaved like aliens during their interaction with the police. (23.02.2018)

This time almost everything went wrong and the seventh episode turned into a showdown between two mafia families, revealing that both have their own internal problems that they must find solutions for. I had a great time also because I found out who Molly Solverson inherited her bulldog nature from in the first season. (23.02.2018)

The creators did a great job again, the atmosphere, tension, and action were perfect, but what amused me the most was the personal development of Peggy Blumquist. The transformation into Positive Peggy and her subsequent work with the knife really got me, equally interesting but much gloomier was the mental transformation of Ohanzee Dent. Great episode.
