Toyo started writing poems after she turned 90 years old, and over two million copies of her poetry books have been sold. Her poems have inspired a lot of people all over the world, and her books have been sold more than 1.6 million copies and published not only in Japan but also in the UK, Holland, Spain, China, Korea and Taiwan.
