Flipping footage of the sea creates the absorbing illusion of a heavy space that collapses off the screen into the theatre; thanks to careful framing, it nearly makes the head spin to watch such strange images. The film’s visual quality is further emphasized by subtle work with contrast and light at different times of day, causing the restless surface to create impressive abstract patterns.
The final approach to the surface of the water transforms the real image into a glimmering blanket whose folds below the floating horizon gently envelop the viewer. (Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival)
